Hi Margaret I love your blog! I was just wondering how you are able to double major in Commerce if you're doing Combined Law? I go to UNSW and that can not be completed in five years, does that mean at Sydney it can or are you overloading? x
Hi - I’m overloading my Commerce degree by three subjects :) x
Hey Margaret! I'm going to LA in December and I was just wondering, did you get any time to shop when you were in LA? If so, what shops would you recommend paying a visit to? What other fun things are there to do there?
Hey! Off the top of my head, definitely go to Reformation and MILK Shop. There’s a great store on Beverly Boulevard that I can’t remember the name of, but they stock Camilla Skovgaard and Barbara Bui at awesome prices. For food, try Taste, Urth Caffe, Comme Ca, Bourgeoisie Pig, and Milk on Beverly. And of course you have to go to Venice Beach! You’ll feel like you’re in an awesome 80s film. xx
Hi lovely :) I have a couple of questions for you :) (1) How do you keep your skin so clear and healthy? (2) What sort of food do you eat and what sort of fitness do you do to keep your body so amazing? (3) How did you get involved in this fashion-blogging/Fellt scene - and what tips do you have for aspiring fashion bloggers? (I love your blog(s) and you are seriously the kindest blogger I've ever come across! Much love, Mariela xx
I don’t wear makeup (apart from lipstick every couple of weeks), and drink a hell load of water, cleanse day and night, and use Extra Virgin Coconut Oil as facial moisturiser
A lot of fruit and vegetables, rice, seafood and tofu. I try to steer clear of bread and pastas (they make me feel ill for the rest of the day), and I try to fit in a run every first day and a swim every second. Ballet/dance is also super helpful, though I have so much fun it doesn’t feel like exercise!
I certainly didn’t plan to get into fashion blogging the way I have - it’s been a whole lot of good timing and amazing people to get here, and I love it. FELLT came about this time last year and had been in the planning process for 6 months before launch! Crazy stuff. Definitely stick to your personal style and build your own brand - no replicating other people’s!! Your readers want to get to know YOU.
Hi! Margaret, I really love your blog it's so amazing and inspire me a lot ! Your NYFW posts totally make me jealous cause I really want to attend some shows ! I want some suggestions about fashion school, I'm 16 and I want to attend Parsons. Is it good? But I want to attend London College Of Fasion too. Which college is better? and do you have any tips about preparing before go to fashion college ? Thanks a lot :) xx
Hi! I know that Parsons will definitely give you more of a foot in the door for industry work afterwards, but I’m not an expert in that area, so maybe shoot them an email to find out about their programs and courses! :) x
I hear that USYD can be very pretentious. From your own experiences, what can you say about this? Can these comments be justified? On an unrelated note, how long have you and your boyfriend been together? You guys are totally adorbs and I wish you all the happiness in the world. Thanks!
From my personal experiences, I don’t find that to be the case at all. As there is in any environment, there might be the odd one or two people who fit the stereotype, but honestly I have a great time on campus and find all the people from different courses inspiring and a lot of fun in their own right.
And thanks! We’ve been together for just under a year xx
Do you have any retail interview tips? I have an interviewand i've never worked in retail before.... Also how come you didn't like it?
Just be yourself and think of things about yourself that set you apart from other applicants. Always sell yourself to them like you’re selling a product (some of these manager people need it in their face that you can move their stock off shelves). I was in retail when I was 16-17, so obviously got walked all over and treated badly, but really it depends on who you’re working for - hopefully you get lucky :) xx
Hey Margret! What lenses should I bring to New York (going in Feb)? I was thinking a kit lens and a 50mm. Also, do you have any tips for dressing in the New York winter? xx
Hey! I only used a 50mm when I was there this time - last season I brought two but ended up sticking to 50mm because it’s so much lighter and sharper. And BUY UNIQLO THERMALS - they will save your life. Nothing worse than bulky undergarments! It was a mild winter last Feb so I survived in moderate outerwear and UNIQLO heattech, but I’d definitely say one good coat (though you’re better off buying one in NY), and generous tailored pants, or leather skinny pants. I’ll be there next Feb too - see you there! x
Have you ever had a part time job other than your blog? You are the most inspiring blogger out there. Keep up the good work! x
Yes! I worked for a pretty long while in retail, which definitely wasn’t fun, but hey: we have to pay our dues right :) I’ve also been doing admin/rep work for Sydney Uni, and some freelancing in the past year xx
hey shinebythree. i saw that you recently went to ny? i was wondering if you had any suggestions for sights/ places to visit when its winter there and if you've been to LA what places to go there? thanks!
You absolutely have to go to Top of the Rock at sunset, Empire State Building at night, Brooklyn Flea, Hell’s Kitchen Markets, Friedmann’s Lunch in Chelsea Markets (get the brown rice bowl), Qi on w14th and 6th (best thai food), Spring St Natural, Café Select, Mercer Kitchen and a 99c hotdog on Broadway.
LA, definitely go to Reformation, MILK, and the Urban Outfitters on Melrose (best sale section you’ve ever seen). Love a cliché Venice Beach, too!
Hey Margaret, absolutely LOVE your blog - I don't think I would be able to live without it, you are such an inspiration :) just a quick one before sending, how do you get invited to so many fashion shows like your up and coming one - New York Fashion Week.
I register as media and designers decide from there if they’d like you to cover their shows! Really glad you’re liking the blog :) x
hello. i would just like to say that you are probably one of the bubbliest, sweetest, prettiest, and most down to earth bloggers/people out there and you inspire me to be a better person every day. it would be such a pleasure to meet you!! xx
So kind of you to say! If you’re Sydney-based, there might be some events in the works, so keep an eye out on the blog! x
Stick to your personal style - don’t replicate anyone else! Readers want to get to know you as a person - that’s what a blog is. So make sure you write with personality and respond as a blogger should! x
