Hi, sorry to bother but I'm wondering if you have any recommendations for SUPER comfy yet chic ankle boots. (You see, I'm going to Europe at the end of this year and don't want to walk around Paris in pain or looking like a hobo)
Hi Margaret! Firstly I just have to say, you are drop dead beautiful. You have such an unique face and I'm extremely jealous of your bone structure. Drooool. Sorry about swooning over you. I've planned a trip to NYC for my 21st with a few of galpals and was wondering if you could give us some places we could go to for shopping & eating? I really appreciate the time you put into your answers but I understand that you may not have time to respond! Love and light to you. x :)
So kind of you to say - I’m so flattered! Oh have you been to NYC before? You’ll love it! I’m flying over on Monday and I couldn’t be more excited if I tried. To eat, I love:
Qi (thai) - W14th between 5th and 6th
Friedman’s Lunch (fusion) - Chelsea Marketing (you NEED to have the brown rice bowl)
Dumpling Man - St Marks Place between 1st and Ave A
The Fat Radish (no words - oh my god) - Orchard St LES
Murray’s Bagels - 6th Ave
and there’s a cupcake cart on Broadway in Soho that has the best red velvet cupcakes of all time.
For shopping, definitely try Barney’s for the experience, Brooklyn Flea, Hell’s Kitchen Markets, Amarcord in Williamsburg, Beacon’s Closet, Saturdays Surf NYC, What Goes Around Comes Around, Assembly NYC.
That’s what I could remember off the top of my head!! Have the best time :) I’ll let you know if I find more when I head over next week x
hi margaret i really need your advice. i'm so scared because hsc is almost over and i have no idea what to do. i really want to get into usyd and get a scholarship but i doubt i will achieve the atar necessary. do you have some tips on how to write a successful personal statement? thanks a bunch! i really appreciate it
Hi - first of all don’t stress! HSC and Uni isn’t the end of the world!! :) There are so many amazing options out there - you’ll be surprised what schools don’t tell you. As for personal statements, nobody wants to read an essay. Just be fun and quirky and yourself - make sure your personality comes through in your writing and that you highlight achievements that other people wouldn’t have - even if you don’t think they’re important! xx
hey margaret!! just need some advice because you know how to put together the most amazing looks! my formal dress is a strapless and light/sky blue and nearly floor length. do you think wedges would work well with it?
Hey! I think full length dresses need something more delicate - you want the focus to be on the dress, and wedges can be too clunky! I think these, these, and these would all look amazing with a pale blue dress :) Have the best time at your formal!! xx
hello margaret! what are some of your secret talents? i understand you dance, play the piano/violin (?) what else do you have up your sleeve? haha
Secret talent is a generous way of putting it!! Things unrelated to blogging? I swim/tennis/sprint if you ask me to. I’ll draw a decent portrait if anyone is after one. I bake way too many pretty cakes. And I can type faster on my BlackBerry than I can on the computer. Ain’t that freaky… x
i saw you do economics, i'm struggling a bit with it. do you have any sort of tips about studying and writing essays ? i never seem to be able to write a decent essay or answer the short answers well enough, thanks
I think the best approach to economics is strictly formulaic - study by the Board of Studies outline and answer every one of the dot points every time a question comes up, because that’s exactly how they mark it: one tick for every dot point. Your writing certainly doesn’t need to be ornate or elaborate for economics - just straight facts. Principle, explain, example, evaluate for every single paragraph. Hope that helps!! x
